Supplements help, but a recent flare reminded me that food still does what no capsule can. Here's what I made, and why it matters.

A landmark Australian study has found biological proof that tick bites cause measurable changes in the body. For those of us dismissed for years, this matters.

When every blood test comes back normal but the pain is very real, it's time to ask deeper questions. Here's what I found.

Water is one of the simplest and most powerful foundations of good health.
Every cell, tissue and organ in your body relies on it. It supports digestion, circulation, energy production, healthy skin, brain function and your body's natural detoxification processes.
Yet despite drinking it every day, many of us rarely stop to think about the quality of the water we're consuming.
For me, that changed after my own journey through chronic illness.
As I learnt more about reducing my overall toxic load and supporting my body's ability to heal, I realised that the water I was drinking—and showering in—was one of the easiest places to make a positive change.
Australia has some of the highest drinking water standards in the world, however to achieve this, disinfectants such as chlorine and chloramine are commonly added to our drinking water.
Depending on where you live, treated tap water may also contain varying levels of substances such as:
• Chlorine and chloramine
• PFAS ("forever chemicals")
• Heavy metals that can leach from ageing pipes
• Pesticide and herbicide residues
• Pharmaceutical residues
• Microplastics
• Volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
• Other environmental contaminants
Many of these substances are present at levels that meet current Australian drinking water guidelines. However, research into their long-term health effects continues to evolve, and many people choose to reduce their exposure wherever practical.
A recent study from UNSW Sydney identified 31 different PFAS compounds in Sydney's tap water, including 21 that had not previously been recorded in Australian drinking water and one that had never before been detected in tap water anywhere in the world. The researchers emphasised that Sydney's water still meets current Australian guidelines, but their findings highlight the importance of ongoing monitoring as our ability to detect these chemicals improves.
For me, this isn't about fear.
It's about making informed choices and reducing my family's overall environmental exposure where I can.
After everything my body had been through during my battle with chronic illness, I began looking at the everyday exposures I could actually control.
I couldn't change the air I breathed every day. I couldn't eliminate every chemical from modern life. But I could choose the water my family drinks, cooks with and bathes in.
That's why we invested in a whole-house filtration system. Every tap, every shower and every bath in our home is filtered.
For us, it wasn't about chasing perfection. It was about reducing our overall toxic load in a practical, sustainable way.
It's one of the best long-term investments we've made for our family's health.
Many people focus only on drinking water, but our skin is our largest organ.
During a warm shower, chlorine and other volatile compounds can evaporate into the steam we breathe, while our skin is exposed to the water for several minutes.
Filtering shower water may be particularly helpful for people with sensitive skin, eczema, asthma or chemical sensitivities.
Healthy living isn't about doing everything perfectly. If a whole-house filtration system isn't practical right now, don't worry.
Start with one simple change.
You might choose:
• A quality water filter jug
• A benchtop filtration system
• An under-sink drinking water filter
• A shower filter
• Or eventually, a whole-house filtration system
Every positive step helps reduce your overall environmental exposure.
After researching many different options, our family chose a whole-house filtration system from Complete Home Filtration and we also mineralise our drinking water in a Genzon Water bench top filter.
What I love most is knowing that every tap in our home delivers filtered water, not just the kitchen sink.
That means we're supporting our health every time we drink a glass of water, prepare a meal or step into the shower.
No single health habit will transform your wellbeing overnight. But every healthy choice adds up.
Every nourishing meal.
Every good night's sleep.
Every walk in nature.
Every stress-reducing breath.
And every glass of clean, filtered water.
The Living Mojo philosophy has never been about perfection. It's about creating an environment where your body has the best opportunity to thrive.
Because healing isn't one big decision. It's hundreds of small ones.
One choice at a time.
